The 2023 Aztlán Research Center Summer Institute & CLLARO Latino Action Council Summit is taking place this year! We are collaborating to host a joint 2-day conference. This exciting event will take place in person at the Occhiato Student Center Ballroom located at 2200 Bonforte Boulevard, Pueblo, CO 81001.

Join us on Wednesday, August 2, at 8:00 am where we explore the concept of Mestizaje, learning from several experts including Dr. Estevan Rael-Gálvez, Dr. Irene Vasquez, Aaron Abeyta, Dr. Charles "Nick" Saenz, and Dr. Christina Leza.

Thursday, August 3, will be a day of networking, community building, and empowerment, featuring keynote addresses by Secretary Federico Peña and other civic leaders. The day will include breakout sessions on Colorado Voting Strategy, Civic Engagement: Get out the vote, Colorado Latino Achievement Gap, and DPS - A Case Study: Resegregation Report.

Our two-day event will feature keynote speakers, subject matter experts, workshops, and panel discussions on topics exploring our past and promoting the political representation, social, and economic well-being of Latinos/Chicanos in Colorado.

We are currently recruiting for the next cohort of Capitol Fellows! For 2024 we are opening up the program to those interested that are in entry level careers, intermediate, and mid-level. The CLLARO Capitol Fellowship Program alumni gathered for their annual summer social, now called RITMO. It took place the evening of July 25 at the Sherman & Howard offices in Downtown Denver. Our amazing sponsors made this event possible, and we are beyond grateful to Sherman & Howard, and The Colorado Trust for their support.

The annual summer social for the Capitol Fellowship Program alumni has served as a time for the young professionals to re-connect and build relationships. We have now expanded it to others from the Latino community in Colorado in hopes to provide even more opportunities for networking.
